Great ride to come out and meet the club members, learn how to club ride, and have some chit chat. This week we’ll start out heading up Magic Mountain Parkway with a right turn on the old road. Saturday August 13, 2022 Soledad, Angeles Crest, Aliso, Soledad Return0700 Meet up McD’s / TJ Max Parking LotBig Note: 0700 AM Start Time Come join the fun as we roll out still a wee bit earlier *7:00AM* to beat the heat. We will leave the McDonald’s parking lot and head down Creekside to Valencia Blvd to Soledad. We will remain neutral until after the tunnel. Form a group and ride a pace line to Acton. Regroup/refueling at the Acton Market. Then continue on Soledad to Angeles Forest and back on Aliso Cyn to Acton. If needed, we will make a 2nd stop at the Acton store before heading back on Soledad. Plenty of bail out points if you would like to go shorter….It will still be very warm. Please be prepared with plenty of water, electrolytes, and be self sufficient. Great ride to come out and meet the club members, learn how to club ride, and have some chit chat. It’s now time to change back to 7:30 AM. This week we’ll start out heading up Magic Mountain Parkway. Looping the new housing development. Right turn on the Old Road, turning right on Valencia Blvd taking the new cut through to Stevenson Ranch and Poe. Down Poe and up to Mentryville. After Mentryville, well take the Old Road to Calgrove and go back through old Newhall eventually linking back up with South Fork Bike trail. About a 30 mile loop. No drop, casual pace. Saturday August 6, 2022 Lake Hughes Road Second Summit Out and Back to Town0730 Meet up McD’s / TJ Max Parking LotCome out and join the clubs as we head up Lake Hughes. Wheels roll at 7:30am from the McDonald’s parking lot. We will head down Magic Mtn to The Old Road. Continue to Lake Hughes with a regroup at the overlook point. Then continue on to the 2nd summit. Head back to town with regroup at the bottom of the descent and then back on the Old Road to the bike path. It’s going to be hot. Be prepared, especially if going around Lake Elizibeth Road.Anyone wanting more miles may continue on Lake Hughes to Lake Elizabeth with a refuel stop at Papas Store.
