Velo Picture Day + Bike MS + Trek + Green ValleyA huge thanks to all that attended Velo picture day, supported Bike MS and participated in the ride out to Green Valley! It was great to see everyone. Big thanks to the Bike MS folks for providing some great food for after the ride and to Trek for treating the club to some pre-ride coffee and breakfast items.The Velo will be riding as a group on 6/1/24 to support Ride MS. The Simi Valley Loop - Saturday April 15Hey, sports fans! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and we've got a special request to hit up Simi Valley! We'll start our journey like we always do, cruising through Railroad and Sierra Hwy. Don't worry, we'll regroup at the bottom of Sierra Hwy before we tackle the mighty Foothill. Once we conquer that beast, we'll take a breather at the top of Santa Susanna before making a quick pit stop at the 7-Eleven in Moorpark to refuel. Ready to keep going? Great! We'll regroup again at the top of Grimes and then start and finish our journey through Guiberson together. Finally, we'll head back home via 126, feeling proud and accomplished. Let's do this thing!

For many of us cyclists, long weekends usually present an opportunity for more time on the bike! And this 4th of July weekend is no exception.Saturday we joined our friends in @cbscycling for their "Mid Year Mini Fitness Camp" Day 1 big ride up to Acton, Aliso, Angeles Forest Hwy, Big Tujunga and back home via Foothill! A very well attended, long ride filled with plenty of climbing.Yesterday, a more tame recovery ride up to Hasley Cyn and into Val Verde to stretch those legs back into existence.As previously posted, we're mixing things up with a gravel ride today, and HAPPY 4TH to all!#cycling

Wow what an awesome and fun weekend of cycling!S

Wow what an awesome and fun weekend of cycling!Saturday we joined @cbscycling for a ride up Ridge Route in Castaic. We had a great showing of cyclists and it was a warm one! The 7 mile, 1700 foot Ridge Route segment climb is a challenging one on hot days like this. The road can be unforgiving with no shade to speak of on the way up. After returning into Castaic, the group splintered in two with some heading back into town and others taking in extra credit out Hasley Canyon. All in all a great ride.Today another sizeable group for a recovery ride! We headed out Soledad Cny past the tunnel and to the Rio store, about a third of the way to Acton. A quick U-turn back down and left on Sand Canyon out to Placerita and back into town. Yesterday was a special ride to celebrate @mamachia_cbscycling birthday! We had a good sized group of riders heading out to Castaic and up Lake Hughes Rd. Some parted ways and cut through Bari's Bypass to San Francisquito while the rest made the longer loop around to Elizabeth Lake Rd and down Bouquet Cny. It was a beautiful day!! First order of business was to get a VELO group photo done.Check out a new post here shortly where we're bringing back the opportunity to purchase the club kit! We'll have another chance later in the year for another group photo. We've had some healthy demand for the kit and also for a vest which we will be introducing again here soon.Yesterday we joined @cbscycling out to Acton for a strong paced ride via Agua Dulce and Escondido Rd and back down Soledad.This morning, as customary, we headed out for some recovery work to Bear Divide, Placerita and Mentryville.

We couldn't ask for more amazing weather yesterday

We couldn't ask for more amazing weather yesterday when we made our way out along with the @cbscycling group! We headed over The Old Rd into the San Fernando Valley, across and then up the Santa Susana pass, into Simi Valley. From there some nice flats to Moorpark, up and over Grimes Cny Rd into Bardsdale and then along the Santa Clara river to the 126. The usual debris on the side of the road caused a couple of flats but everyone made it back safe and sound into town. A great ride!! Be sure to join us next time. And that's a wrap! We had an awesome turnout for the Santa Clarita VELO Bicycle Club "Reunion"! We had a great group show up and welcomed current and former members. We had epic Santa Clarita Velo riding yesterday! Two different rides with good people and killer climbs! The local ride was Foothill, Lopez/Kagel, and Little T. The other ride was departing Carpenteria bound for Gibraltar and Painted Cave. During this ride, we linked up with the LAPD cycling team and had a great group. Great turnout for our ride out to Acton this morning! Temps cooperated initially on the way up Sierra Hwy but gradually dipped as we got closer to Acton. Some braver souls went on to Aliso Canyon while the rest made their way back via Soledad, weathering the cold headwind chill! 🥶 The 10 to 15 degrees warmer in town were welcome.Join us next week for another great riding adventure!
